LADbible gets new financial supremo

YOUTH media company TheLADbible Group has appointed Pete Wade to the newly created role of chief financial officer.

The firm behind TheLADbible, TheSPORTbible, The FOODbible and Pretty52, says the appointment takes immediate effect and Wade will be based in Manchester.

 Wade was most recently finance director at Trainline. Prior to that he spent 11 years at eBay Inc – in the UK and San Francisco – in roles including director of investor relations and CFO of eBay.com’s marketing division.

Wade worked closely on the separation and subsequent IPO of PayPal, held many of the relationships with eBay’s European Investors and had a significant impact on the operating efficiency of eBay.co.uk and eBay.com.

Reporting to chief executive and founder Solly Solomou, Wade will be part of TheLADbible Group’s core leadership team and is tasked with driving growth and providing a strong foundation for ongoing investment in leading content, technology and talent.

TheLADbible Group is one of the biggest youth media companies in the UK. TheLADbible has more than 14 million followers on Facebook and three million followers on Instagram, while TheSPORTbible has more than eight million followers on Facebook.

Solomou said: “Pete brings a depth of tech and investor experience to business that goes very deep and he has a track record working at a high level within some incredibly innovative companies and taking them through their financial journey. I’m incredibly pleased that he is coming on board.”
