Get to know your city: Guided walks in Manchester, Liverpool & Chester

Ever walk around your city centre and realise that there is so much you don’t know about it? It is common. After all, we all live such busy lives and rarely get the chance to learn about our local heritage and what has happened in the areas we were brought up in and live. Here are just a few guided tours you should head to in your city to discover all you need to know.

Manchester

Daily Discover Manchester Tour
This guided tour will lead you around Manchester city centre, giving you a taste of fascinating history, architecture and culture. The tour, which starts at Manchester Central Library in St. Peter’s Square at 11am, will take walkers to Manchester Town Hall, Lincoln Memorial and the John Rylands Library. Meeting at the Albert Dock at 11am daily, this tour goes the extra mile for discovering all there is to know about Liverpool. Learn about the culture, amazing architecture and how it has developed over the past 800 years to become the city it is today. Take in the views from the adored waterfront and marvel at iconic buildings on the Pier Head before exploring the town hall and the Bluecoat. John Lennon StatueBeatles Walk
You can’t head to Liverpool without learning about The Beatles! On a personal Beatles walk, you will visit the Eleanor Rigby and John Lennon statues as well as Liverpool Town Hall, the site of NEMS record shop and Rushworth’s. You will of course visit the Cavern Club too and take in the wonderful atmosphere of Mathew Street. This daily tour, which meets at Chester’s Visitor Information Centre at 10.30am, is the perfect way to discover Chester and all of its beauty. The guided walk will take you on a journey through 2,000 years of history and will tell the stories of the Rows, Walls, River and the Cathedral whilst you enjoy all the sights and sounds. Learn about how the city has become the cherished place it is, starting from Roman times, through the Georgian and Victorian and to how it is now.
