Bedmaker Silentnight hails record performance in 70th year

SILENTNIGHT has enjoyed record sales up 10% on the previous year to £137.5m, as it celebrates its 70th year as a bed manufacturer.
Sales across the Barnoldswick, Lancashire group’s Silentnight, Sealy and Rest Assured brands increased by £12.3m for the year to the end of January 2016, while pre-tax profits grew 18% to £3.9m. Operating profit increased to £8.3m – a 26% increase on last year.
Latest accounts filed at Companies House also show that headcount grew by 5% to more than 1,000 staff to meet incaresed production demand.
