Work with fostering group earns restructuring firm awards nomination

SMITH & Williamson, the accountancy and investment management group, has been shortlisted for the 2016 Turnaround, Restructuring and Insolvency (TRI) awards, under the category of Corporate Rescue of the Year.

The awards champion experts undertaking outstanding work in corporate rescue.

The team, which comprised partners Matthew Dunham, Adam Stephens and Andy McGill, has been recognised for its work as administrators of The British Association for Adoption and Fostering (BAAF), the adoption and fostering charity.

The work took place during the summer and early autumn of 2015.

Dunham, a partner specialising in restructuring and  recovery at Smith & Williamson, Manchester office, said: “It’s great to be recognised for our work in corporate rescue at the esteemed TRI awards.

“The BAAF administration was a highly sensitive case for all involved, so we were pleased that we were able to protect the vast majority of BAAF’s services and rescue 65 jobs in the process.”
