Constructor appointed to £450m framework

BARDSLEY Construction has been appointed to the Innovation Chain North West (ICNW) Framework led by Great Places Housing Group to deliver affordable properties with an estimated total works value of over £450m over the next four years.

The framework has been divided into lots based on scheme size and geography and also has lots dedicated to professional services such as architects and employers’ agents.

The family-owned business based in Dukinfield, Greater Manchester has been appointed alongside other contractors to lot H1 (schemes across the North with a works value over £4m) and L4 (schemes in South Yorkshire and Derbyshire East with a works value of up to £1.5m).

Registered providers with the Homes and Communities Agency can access contractors through the ICNW framework to develop residential and related social infrastructure schemes.

Its appointment to ICNW continues Bardsley Construction’s relationship with fellow contractors on the initial ICNW Framework.

Bardsley was also recently appointed to Lot 3 of the Re:Allies Framework for all works worth in excess of £2m and with a projected spend of £384m over four years to deliver affordable housing and public buildings across the North West, Yorkshire and the north Midlands.

Re:Allies is a partnership of housing consortia delivering social and commercial value to registered social housing providers, communities and local economies.

Ged Rooney, procurement director at Bardsley Construction, said: “Our appointment to ICNW cements our long-standing relationship with Great Places Housing Group and shows continued belief by leading social housing providers in our proven ability to work in mutually beneficial partnerships on the provision of different types of affordable housing on time and on budget.”

Peter Bojar, director of development at Great Places Housing Group, said: “The framework has been designed to maximise value for money, efficiency and quality as well as provide crucial social value initiatives, including apprenticeships and employment opportunities.

“Over the next four years the new properties we build via the ICNW framework will ensure we continue to make a much needed contribution to housing growth and provide new developments for aspiring home owners and families.”
