Airline launches only service to Luxembourg outside London

AIRLINE Flybe has launched a new year round flight between Manchester and Luxembourg – the only such service apart from the main London airports.
Flights operate twice daily from Monday to Friday and once a day on weekends. One way fares are available from £29.99 (€40) including taxes and charges at www.flybe.com.
Flights from Manchester have been timed to make day returns a real possibility, leaving Manchester in the morning before returning late evening.
Luxembourg is a destination growing in popularity with both business and leisure travellers, with its picturesque towns and castles contrasting with cities that host the headquarters of some of the most powerful institutions in Europe such as the European Investment Bank and the European Court of Justice.
Inbound customers to Manchester can also take advantage of the many onward connections available with Flybe from the airline’s successful Manchester hub. This option has become increasingly popular with those deciding to bypass congested London airports.
Vincent Hodder, Flybe chief revenue officer, said: “Not only is this a first for Flybe, it is also now the only direct route offered to Luxembourg City outside of London.
“It is a fantastic destination for both business and leisure travellers alike so we are thrilled to mark this special milestone. We have scheduled flight times to make day trips a real possibility as well as helping business travellers save on expensive hotel costs.”
Manchester Airport’s commercial director Stephen Turner said: “We’re confident the route will prove hugely popular with the 22 million people in our catchment area.”
