Developer buys up big chunk of Omega North

A CHUNK of land on the Omega North site near Warrington has been acquired by Oxfordshire-based property developer Brackley Property Developments.

The 4.67-acre site adjacent to the entrance to Travis Perkins, is being promoted for design and building industrial/distribution to accommodate units from 50,000sq ft to a maximum single unit of 92,000sq ft.

The site is the last plot on the northern side of Omega which is also currently the home to high profile occupiers Hermes and Brakes.  The adjoining Omega South is home to Asda, The Hut Group, Plastics Omnium.

The value of the transaction was not disclosed.

Joint managing director of Brackley, Stephen Pedrick-Moyle, said: “We are very excited about our first site acquisition in the North West and believe we have acquired the most high profile prime site of its size in the region.”

BPD has appointed Cushman & Wakefield and B8 Real Estate to market the site on their behalf.

Jonathan Thorne of B8 Real Estate said: “We are pleased to be promoting this very high profile site fronting the M62 and have been encouraged by the early interest shown by occupiers and hope to secure an occupier with a view to being on site in early 2017.  

“We have decided to promote the site as Omega Point and will be launching a full marketing campaign along with progressing detailed discussions with occupiers and their representatives in September.”
