NORTH West accountancy firm Mitchell Charlesworth has appointed a senior personal tax manager boosting its expert tax team.

Latha Rodgers will be responsible for leading on personal tax across the partnership providing a broad range of advice, including income and corporation tax, stamp duty land tax, inheritance tax and will planning.

Mitchell Charesworth’s tax team spans across the firm’s five offices in Manchester, Liverpool, Chester, Warrington and Widnes.

Ta partner Tim Adcock said Rodgers brings formidable skill and experience as a former Forbes Dawson, KPMG and Grant Thornton tax specialist.

“We are pleased to announce this strategic appointment to boost our tax expertise specifically within the area of personal taxation,” said Adcock.

“Latha is well known in the region as a leading advisor in this field. Her inclusion greatly strengthens our tax team and all round offering.”

NATIONALLY recognised law firm berg has announced a raft of key hires and appointments including new partners in dispute resolution and insolvency.
 
Professional negligence expert Daniel Brumpton joins as partner in a boost to the firm’s thriving dispute resolution department whilst Chris McDuff joins the firm as insolvency partner.
 
Brumpton, who moves across the Pennines to Manchester from Sheffield, has more than 13 years’ experience dealing with a vast breadth of claimant professional negligence cases.

CHESHIRE-based Comms-care, the provider of outsourced IT services for the channel community and now an Ingram Micro company has announced the appointment of Nikki Chamberlain as marketing manager.
 
Chaimberlain’s principal responsibility will be the development, management and implementation of an innovative marketing strategy and programme to help the business maintain its market-leading position in the UK.

She has nearly 20 years’ marketing experience and will lead and mentor the Comms-care PR, communication and marketing team. She will also oversee the Comms-care brand and look to build upon its already impressive reputation in the UK channel.

Prior to joining Comms-care, Chamberlain was marketing director at financial services firm Smart Financial. During her career she has also held marketing positions at firms including Advanced Legal, Oceanico Group and JMC IT.

DIGITAL agency Hit Search has welcomed new staff members into the PPC and Account Management teams.
 
Liverpool-based digital agency, Hit Search, continues to expand since its recent move into the city centre, with Agnes Gizynska and Jenni Fleet now joining the business.

Gizynska joins the company with more than three years’ paid search agency experience and has been appointed as senior PPC executive.

Her responsibilities include managing, optimising and growing new and existing PPC campaigns and running paid social media activity for a variety of the agency’s high-profile clients.

Fleet has joined the company as an account manager in the growing account management team, bringing over six years’ agency experience to the business.

She has vast amounts of experience working across PR and events management, as well in digital project management and account management in previous roles.  Fleet is now responsible for client relationship management at Hit Search.
 
The new appointments continue a period of growth for the Liverpool-based company, following successful office relocation to the city centre in July.

DIGITAL marketing agency Reckless has promoted Simon Butterworth to the role of digital marketing director.

Butterworth joined the agency as head of search in 2012. Since joining the award winning agency, he has continued to grow the digital marketing arm of the business. Simon is now responsible for the management of a growing, Digital Marketing team.

Butterworth will provide the agency’s growing client portfolio with strategic advice and direction about how to maximise their digital marketing efforts to provide real commercial uplift.

MACCLESFIELD Chamber of Commerce has enhanced its board with the appointment of Macclesfield College principal and chief executive Rachel Kay.

Cheshire-born Kay took over at the college in August 2015 and has since worked hard to provide strategic leadership and develop a clear vision.

She has also been instrumental in re-engaging with the local business community, with the college recently achieving a good Ofsted rating for its Apprenticeship provision.

Kay also played a pivotal role in helping the College achieve a Silver Award in the North East Cheshire Business Awards 2015 in the Best Company to Work For category as well as reaching the final of Education Investor Awards 2016.

Kay’s new role will see her advise local organisations on education.

She will be working closely with small, medium-sized and large employers to optimise opportunities for skills in work and Apprenticeships.

Nigel Schofield, chairman of Macclesfield Chamber of Commerce, said: “Rachel has a proven track record in both education and business sectors and  we are delighted to welcome her on to the board. LHS Solicitors has appointed Nasar Hussain to its commercial property team at its Manchester office.

Hussain joins LHS from Lancashire-based law firm Lance Mason.

He advises on the sale, purchase and lease of commercial property, the sale and purchase of retail businesses and drafting constitutional documents.
