Family-run demolition firm goes into administration

A FAMILY-run demolition firm near Bolton has gone into administration putting 60 jobs at risk.
The company Walter Forshaw – one of the largest demolition firms in the North West – dates back to 1921 and is based in Westhoughton.
This company is reported to have called in Manchester-based CG Recovery as administrators and it will attempt to save the business.
Walter Forshaw is renowned for demolishing the Exide Battery Factory on the outskirts of Bolton and Bolton College’s Manchester Road.
The CG Recovery spokesman told The Bolton News: “We can confirm that Jonathan Avery-Gee and Stephen Conn of CG Recovery have been appointed administrators of Walter Forshaw as of September 15.
“Further information about this case is available from Edward Gee on 0161 358 0210.”
Walter Forshaw have not commented.
