FWP secures place on £150m ‘social impact’ framework

ARCHITECT, design and master-planning practice the Frank Whittle Partnership has secured a place on the innovative new Construction Impact Framework.

The Liverpool-based framework is forecast to offer its members a £150m pipeline of work over the next four years.

With social impact at its heart, the framework judges companies on the social effects their infrastructure projects and developments have within communities, alongside measures of quality, value and customer service.

The framework plans to be a ‘one-stop shop’ for capital projects up to the value of £5m. It also plans to invest £750,000 over a four year period in communities across the North West.

Multi-disciplinary practice FWP, which has offices in Preston, Manchester and London, has been successful across all framework areas, including architecture, project management, structural engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering and quantity surveying.

Martin Whittle, managing partner at FWP, said: “The CIF uses very different criteria to other frameworks and we’re really pleased to have secured our place on it.

“The CIF replaces lowest price tendering with real partnering relationships who share an objective to work for the common good.

“It also takes a ‘philanthropist’ business approach by re-investing a proportion of its profits into projects that support communities.

“We look forward to playing an active role in the framework and bidding for work across all our multidisciplinary areas.”

The CIF is an Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) compliant framework, providing clients with easy access to a comprehensive range of construction related services. Its members have the option of a direct ‘call-off’ agreement or a mini tender process.

It is already working with a range of public sector organisations from a variety of sectors including health, education, local government and housing.

FWP is a multi-disciplined practice founded more than half a century ago in Preston.  Its approach is defined by the exploration of new ideas, development and expertise and a commitment to sustainability.

It has successfully delivered projects across the UK in all sectors, including commercial, health, sport and leisure and hospitality.

In its home city of Preston, FWP is leading the multi-million pound regeneration of The Guild Hall and is playing a leading part in the development of the city’s Markets Quarter.
