Law firm plans move to No.1 Spinningfields

LAW firm Browne Jacobson has announced plans to move its Manchester office to Allied London’s No.1 Spinningfields.

Browne Jacobson has taken a ten-year lease on 11,055 sq ft of Grade A office space, quadrupling its floor space when it moves into the new premises in September 2017.

The new 260,000 sq ft commercial building in the heart of Spinningfields is the tallest commercial building to be built in the city.

Browne Jacobson said the decision to relocate from its current Orega serviced office space at 3 Piccadilly Place follows a period of sustained growth and coincides with its plans to expand its service offering in the North West and grow its headcount.

The firm will leave Picadilly Place and relocate to temporary premises at Tower 12 in Spinningfields this month until work is completed on No. 1 Spinningfields.

Over the last five years Browne Jacobson has seen revenues grow nationally by 80%, while the Manchester office, which opened in February 2012, has seen 25% growth for 2015/16, according to the firm.

Sarah Walker Smith, chief operating officer at Browne Jacobson, said:“We see this as a game changer for Browne Jacobson in the North West and is another major milestone on our journey to develop and grow our offering, both regionally and nationally.

“Our move into the heart of one of the most successful financial and commercial districts in Europe is a reflection of our confidence in our Manchester team and our ambitions to grow our North West operation even further.”

OBI Property advised Browne Jacobson on the transaction.
