Big four firm appoints new private client head

KPMG has appointed Manchester-based partner Nick Pheasey as its head of private client advisory in the North.
Pheasey has been a partner at KPMG since 2013 and has more than 19 years of tax experience, specialising in advising individuals, family offices, entrepreneurs and shareholders on their personal tax issues.
Pheasey said: “I am delighted to be taking over the reins of our Private Client Advisory practice across the North. I‘m really looking forward to working with Greg in this entrepreneurial region where I cut my teeth, to continue to grow our market leading private client business.”
He succeeds Dermot Callinan who leads KPMG’s private client practice in the North and nationally but will be leaving in September 2017 after 26 years with the firm.
Callinan, who has spent most of his career with KPMG having specialised in private client tax and wealth advice since starting in practice in 1985, has been recruited by accountancy firm Saffery Champness and will become a partner in its Harrogate office from October 2017.
KPMG said that under his leadership, its private client advisory practice has grown significantly and now comprises over 150 specialists in personal tax advice and compliance throughout the UK.
London-based partner Greg Limb, has been made head of private client advisory nationally.
Mike Linter, head of national markets tax at KPMG in the UK, said: “Nick and Greg both have immense reputations for building strong lasting relationships with clients, from entrepreneurs and family business owners, to private wealthy individuals and trustees, and will lead their teams to continued success.
“I would like to thank Dermot for his successful leadership and commitment during his time at the helm. He is a highly respected KPMG partner who has contributed hugely to the private client practice and the wider firm, especially in the North over the years.”
