SiS makes big appointment to boost US expansion

EAST Lancashire-based sports nutrition company Science in Sport has appointed a manager for its expansion strategy in the US.

Tonya Wearner has been appointed to the role of US country manager for the AIM-listed Nelson headquartered firm.

In her role Wearner will be a key part developing SiS’s its endurance sports nutrition brand in major international markets.
 
She will be responsible for building revenues from the company’s online platform and through third party online retailers. She will develop and implement multi-media marketing and athlete acquisition strategies, as well as ensuring high levels of customer service.

Wearner has more than 16 years of sales and marketing experience working with established consumer brands and has a proven track record of delivering revenue growth and profitability.

Prior to joining SiS, she ran her own business consultancy, advising companies on brand licensing, retail market expansion and product management.
