PR glitterati set to gather for big awards event

UP to 350 of the North West’s top PR and communications professionals will gather tonight for the region’s most prestigious annual awards ceremony.

An established date on the PR calendar, the awards will recognise the talent of agencies, organisations and individuals following a gruelling selection process.

With this year tipped to be the most vibrant yet, guests will be entertained by a yet-to-be-named international act.

With awards covering a range of categories, suspense is building for who will take this year’s crown for outstanding in-house team and agency, as well as the Committee’s Special Award presented for outstanding contribution.

Hayley James, CIPR (Chartered Institute of Public Relations) NW chair, said: “As excitement builds ahead of tonight, we would like to thank our regional sponsors including PR Newswire, Pitch Consultants, The Business Desk, Richard Knew Productions, Black Cherry Recruitment, Howard Wilkinson Photography, Echo Many, dewinter and Markettiers.

“The standard of entries this year has again been outstanding and we look forward to announcing the winners later this evening. The awards as they happen can be followed on Twitter using #PRideNW.”

The chosen charity for this year’s PRide Awards raffle has been confirmed as Francis House Children’s Hospice. With prizes including an iPad Air, rare Simpsons Lego set, first class return rail tickets to Edinburgh and many more, guests will be invited to dig deep to help raise funds.

Watch TheBusinessDesk tomorrow for details of the winners, photos of the awards ceremony and after party.
