Developers tipped to buy chunk of Airport City

DEVELOPERS Stoford and Mountpark are being tipped to buy a 37-acre piece of the £800m Manchester’s Airport City.

SHD Logistics has reported the two companies are poised to acquire the site, which could include a 13 million sq ft enterprise zone.

Rival developer Canmoor, supported by Legal & General, was initially believed to be a front runner as the chosen contractor.

The site is near the the new 654,000 sq ft Amazon warehouse which is being developed by Mountpark and Stoford, and a DHL unit measuring 37,400sq ft.

Airport City project is a joint venture between Manchester Airports Group, Carillion, Beijing Construction Engineering Group, and the Greater Manchester Pension Fund.
