MANCHESTER Creative Digital Assets, the new company responsible for managing and developing The Space Project, The Sharp Project and One Central Park, has appointed Rob Page as its financial director.

Page, will be responsible for all financial aspects of MCDA activities, leading the newly formed financial management team for all three assets funded by Manchester City Council, supporting the planned expansion of the business and co-ordinating financial control and reporting throughout the group.

This follows the recent appointment of Adrian Bleasdale to the position of CEO.  Both men will start their newly created roles in the new year.

Prior to joining MCDA, Page held various senior finance roles within network agencies, most recently as Finance Director of Cheetham Bell JWT.

MAX Paterson, formerly senior manager at EY, has joined UHY Hacker Young’s Manchester office as a partner in the audit department.

Paterson has more than 16 years’ experience in the accountancy profession, the last 12 of which were spent in EY’s audit team where he helped manage a portfolio of clients with a focus on entrepreneurial, listed and international businesses.

He will further strengthen UHY’s audit offering and ramp up the firm’s current rate of growth in the North West.

FINANCIAL advisory firm Wealthcare has recruited three staff as demand for its services continues to grow.
The Bury-based firm has added Stewart Williams and Lee Simons to its team of mortgage advisers, and Steve Hill has joined as an independent financial adviser.

Wealthcare provides specialist advice and planning in all areas of pensions, investments, mortgages, healthcare, insurance and employee benefits.
 
The firm has a nationwide client base of individuals, trustees, companies and their employees.

Stewart has more than 20 years’ experience and at Wealthcare he is focusing on finance for commercial and residential developments, with a specialist emphasis on bridging and mezzanine funding.

Lee was a professional golfer before entering the financial services industry. He has a Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice qualification from the London Institute of Banking and Finance.
His role at Wealthcare sees him dealing with all aspects of property finance. His remit also includes helping to build the firm’s client base in the south.

Steve has more than 30 years’ experience in the financial services sector and specialises in providing pensions and investment advice to individuals and corporate clients.

The trio’s arrival takes overall staff numbers to 20.

Joint managing director Stephen Cainer said Wealthcare plans further recruitment over the coming months in line with the firm’s expansion.

RESIDENTIAL and urban regeneration specialist Sigma Capital has announced that Rob Sumner will be joining the Manchester company as residential investment director.
 
Sumner joins Sigma from Savills where he was a director in the Manchester development team for 10 years. In his previous role he was responsible for generating value through the acquisition and disposal of residential assets, as well as forward funding large build-to-rent projects.

In his new role at Sigma, Rob will be responsible for all residential investment decisions made by the group and he starts in his new role with Sigma this month.

Graeme Hogg, chief operating officer at Sigma, said: “Rob is very well respected in the property industry and especially in the residential sector, and we are delighted to have attracted someone of his calibre to the company. Rob is sure to be a great asset to the business, as well as being incremental to Sigma’s PRS investment growth plans going forward.”

Rob said of his appointment: “Working in residential investment and build-to-rent for an organisation I had called a client for 12 years presented a really exciting opportunity for me. Sigma is a leader in the field of build-to-rent with a long and demonstrable track record, which shows firm underpinnings to its offer. With additional appointments made in earlier in the year to the asset management, development and marketing teams, Sigma now employs 27 people and is all set to continue its rapid growth in the PRS investment sector.

MANCHESTER and Cheshire-based law firm Slater Heelis has appointed Matthew Grellier as an associate in its construction and engineering team.

Grellier will be specialising in construction, engineering and projects, and will be based in the Oaklands, Sale branch.

Before joining Slater Heelis HE worked for Squire Patton Boggs for two years and before that was at Pannone or three years. Grellier is highly experienced in advising on both contentious and non-contentious matters.  
He has experience in arbitration, adjudication and litigation and has acted for clients including developers, contractors, sub-contractors and professional consultants in a range of industry sectors.
 
Kenneth Salmon, consultant solicitor in the construction and engineering team at Slater Heelis said: “We’re looking forward to welcoming Matthew on board, his experience and expertise will significantly strengthen our construction team during an exciting period of growth.”
