£12m Aurora starting to take shape

WORK on Stockport’s newest industrial park has reached a major milestone as the steelwork starts going up.

Over the past few days, cranes have begun lifting large sections of the steel frames into place as work at £12m Aurora Stockport gathers momentum.

When completed next year, a modern, thriving 145,000sq ft industrial park  alongside junction 1 of the M60 comprising 10 light industrial units will have been created.

With units ranging from 8,700sq ft to 47,000sq ft the opportunities Aurora Stockport offers are significant and a high level of interest has already been received from local businesses.

The new development is part of the £1bn Investing in Stockport programme underway across Stockport that will see the town build on its strengths and become even more successful.

Cllr Kate Butler, Stockport Council’s executive member for economy and regeneration said: “I’m really pleased to see the progress being made at Aurora Stockport. Stockport’s excellent location and first-class workforce mean there is always a high demand for quality industrial units locally.

“Aurora Stockport will meet this need and see new jobs and opportunities created for residents as businesses move into the industrial park.”
