Blueprint for phase three of major retail development submitted

PLANS for the next phase of development at Parsonage Way Retail Park in Leigh, near Wigan have been lodged just weeks after the second phase completed.

The third phase of the scheme on Atherleigh Way will comprise three retail units totalling 52,000sq ft.

Phase two saw the development of 50,000sq ft for Aldi, B&M and a Greene King pub, which are all open and trading.

Both phases as well as the stores for anchor tenants Sainsbury’s, M&S Simply Food and TK Maxx, were designed by architectural, surveying and planning consultancy, Cassidy + Ashton.

The entire mixed use scheme so far comprises 14 retail units totalling more than 230,000sq ft.

Neil Dermott, associate director at Cassidy + Ashton, added: “Each phase has attracted substantial interest from big-name occupiers, which demonstrates the desirability of out of town developments. The third phase will bring even more high quality retailing environments, which have proved so popular in this area.”
