Boutique hotel launches recruitment drive for 50 staff

ODDFELLOWS On The Park boutique hotel in Cheadle, Greater Manchester, has launched a recruitment campaign for more than 50 staff ahead of its opening in March.

The 22-bedroom hotel will open with its restaurant, The Galloping Major, The Stud Room bar, salon dé beauté and event spaces.

Catherine Glynn, HR manager said: “We are a passionate team who really care about the direction of our hotels and the service we provide. We’re looking for the best of the best and in return we’ll provide a wonderful place to work and fantastic career prospects.

“The recruitment drive will run through all of the departments of the hotel from housekeeping, to chefs and from receptionists to events & occasions team, and whilst hotel experience is great – it’s the people who count. We will have a team with bags of personality who understand our market, have excellent service standards and can give our guests a wonderful, authentic experience.”

Oddfellows On The Park is the sister hotel to Oddfellows, Chester and the result of a 15-month long restoration of Victorian Bruntwood Hall.

It will be the only hotel in the UK outside of London to be welcomed into the global Design Hotels consortium, and sits alongside hotels like Soho Hotel in London and Gramercy Park Hotel in New York.

Designed by Tim Groom Architects, with interiors by SpaceInvader, both Manchester based firms, the hotel has been restored with a distinct nod to the building’s history and its position within the park.

Guests will enjoy interesting design pieces throughout – like the bike chain chandelier that is inspired by the Bruntwood Park BMX track and lights up the grand staircase.

The hotel collection is currently on the look-out for a third property, focusing its search across the North of England.

Jonathan Slater, who heads up Oddfellows Hotels, said: “The time to join Oddfellows is now. We are at the beginning of our journey and looking for a strong team to join the ride. There will be plenty of career opportunities within the group as we follow through our expansion plans. We promote, wherever possible, within the business and put a lot of care and energy into developing our team into the hospitality stars of tomorrow.”
