Thorngrove snaps up 1.5 acres for luxury homes in Cheshire

Thorngrove Developments – the residential development arm of Cheshire-based Thorngrove Land & Property – has acquired two sites totalling 1.5 acres in Sandbach from Cheshire East Council for an undisclosed sum.

A planning application has been submitted to redevelop the sites to provide 14 three, four and five bedroom luxury homes. The houses will range in price from £250,000 to £650,000.

The sites – one of which is a redundant car park off Middlewich Road in the town centre and the other, a former care home on London Road, close to Sandbach railway station – were acquired as part of a tender process.

Lee Charnley, managing director of Thorngrove Land & Property, said: “Whilst there are already numerous residential schemes currently under construction in Sandbach, I am very confident that our developments will provide a superior offering that will clearly distinguish them from the typical styles being marketed by the mass builders within the town.

“Whilst these will be the first residential schemes that Thorngrove Developments has undertaken, our commitment to delivering exceptional quality and meticulous attention to detail, with each interior being individually designed by an interior designer, will set us apart from similar priced new build offerings.

“We are currently looking for similar sites throughout the North West as we continue to grow our development portfolio across all property sectors.”

Thorngrove Land & Property – together with its joint venture partner, Richardsons Capital  – has also submitted planning for a speculative 260,000sq ft high bay warehouse at J28, M1 in Derbyshire.

This industrial scheme represented the first major development for Lee Charnley since leaving his role as development director at Property Alliance Group last year.
