Weatherproof phone specialist set for move to larger premises after bank deal
Lancashire firm DAC upsizing with Barclays support

Lancashire-based DAC, a specialist in the design and manufacture of weatherproof and emergency telephones, has been backed by Barclays Business in its bid to move into larger premises.

DAC was established in 2006, acquiring the commercial telephone activity of RACAL Acoustics.

Barclays has provided a commercial mortgage to support the purchase of the historic Union Mill, an 18th century former cotton mill in the Ribble Valley village of Sabden, providing the business with a material asset and a platform for future growth.

Andrew Faulkner, director at DAC Limited, said: “Vandal and weather resistant telephones are an important method of providing private and public access communications.

“Our business has successfully grown over the last few years and as a result we were in need of larger premises. We are grateful for the continued support of Barclays, who are an integral part of our team.”

Jayne Preston, Barclays business development manager and Jon Alder, Barclays business manager structured the deal.

Alder said: “By working closely with the management team and really understanding the business, Barclays has been able to help DAC secure a valuable asset and acquire the additional space they need to allow the business to continue growing.”

The commercial property team at Harrison Drury, led by commercial property lawyer Nicola Beneduce, advised DAC on the purchase of Union Mill.
