Love Saves the Day replaced with café Outlet

A NEW café is to open on Dale Street in Manchester, in the space left by café and deli Love Saves the Day, which went into liquidation.

Called An Outlet, the business will open on January 12 in the restored Carver’s Warehouse where owners – creative studio four23 and engineers Martin Stockley Associates – are both tenants.

Four23 and Stockleys have funded the business themselves and bought the operating license to run the premises from building owner Town Centre Securities.

Warren Bramley, creative director at four23, said: “After a few late night discussions, Martin [Stockley] and I decided to take the plunge and take over the outlet.

“We feel strongly that a building as special and as vibrant as Carver’s should have a great meeting place. We wanted to keep the independent spirit of the building so a coffee shop chain wouldn’t be right.”

Mr Bramley told TheBusinessDesk he is confident that the business will be a success, despite the misfortune of Love Saves the Day, which was forced to close all three of its branches in October.

“Businesses like An Outlet are very much part of the local area. We have done a lot of consultation with people and local businesses are confident we’ve developed an offer which meets those needs,” he said.

Joint partner Martin Stockley said he wanted An Outlet to become a venue where things happen and “plots are hatched”.

“Yes, we’ll be serving wonderful coffee, sandwiches and all those types of things, but what excites us most, however, is creating a spirit in the place,” he said.

He added: “Neither myself or Warren has any experience in running a café/deli but we’re confident we’ll create something quite unique. Naivety can be a wonderful thing.”

The café, which has brought in a chef to work up breakfast, lunch and early evening menus, will be open from 8am to 7pm.
