Red Vision opens new Sharp Project studio

VISUAL effects specialist Red Vision Vfx is to open a new 3D TV studio at the Sharp Project media centre in Manchester.
The investment by Red Vision and others, including the Northwest Development Agency, will create around 26 jobs next year.
The move comes six months after Red Vision was forced to close its Red Vision Studios subsidiary with the loss of 30 jobs due to a fall in commissions.
The company, which provided effects for Stephen Hawking’s Universe said it would now specialise in high concept special effects and 3D productions for film and television, gaming, mobile and online.
Red Vision’s David Mousley said: “The essential downsizing that took place with the closure of Red Vision Studios in April was a tough period for us, and it’s gratifying to be able to make this major step forward into 3D production for feature film with new and external investment. We feel confidant we will now be able to play a part in sustaining and building the overall TV and film production base in the North West.”
