Colliers sells two Lake District businesses for £1.3m

THE HOTELS team at the Manchester office of property agency Colliers has sold two Lake District businesses for the combined sum of almost £1.3m.
The firm has sold Ouse Bridge House at Dubwath on behalf of vendors Stephen and Kate Barrie to Stephen and Claire Shepherd, which had an asking price of £799.950. The hotel has 11 bedrooms and overlooks Bassenthwaite Lake. The owners are retiring to live locally and the new owners are moving to the area from Milton Keynes.
Meanwhile, Colliers has also sold sold Greystones Coffee House in Glenridding on the shores of Ullswater, to Mal Thomas and Sonia Clarke. The premises, which can seat more than 70 people, were sold on behalf of Julian and Nicola Sharman from an asking price of £495,000.
Haydn Spedding, associate director of Colliers’ Manchester hotels team said:
“Continuing confidence in the Lake District and Cumbria from solid occupancy and the ‘staycation’ effect gives confidence to buyers to acquire good quality and profitable businesses in the tourist sector.
“We have a number of further significant sales in the pipeline which will complete before Christmas.”
