Video tagging firm signs three-year deal with PA Sport

A VIDEO search and navigation company has signed an exclusive deal with Press Association (PA) Sport which will see its new technology marketed worldwide.

Liverpool-based Edit.TV has developed an application called Yoursport.TV which allows fans of all sports to edit their own sports content by “tagging” or searching for video clips as opposed to scrolling through games.

Edit.TV has agreed a three-year deal with Press Association Sport to become its official data partner. PA Sport will also act as an official re-seller of YourSportTV to global rights holders.

The company said that its technology, which has been backed by 17 patents, aimed to make the navigation of video simpler. The system is available for a range of sports and is available for several different languages either as a live or video-on-demand platform.

Although, the deal with PA is sports specific, Edit.TV’ said that its technology also works for news, business and entertainment programmes.

Matt O’Connor, one of the directors of Edit.TV, said: “Press Association Sport is the perfect partner for Edit.TV to help us take the YourSportTV technology to global rights holders.

“The service is tailored exclusively to rights holders including sports clubs and competition owners to online broadcasters and bookmakers.”

Jack Davison, commercial director of Press Association Sport, said “We are delighted to have agreed this important deal with Edit.TV. The digital YourSportTV application adds a new dimension to our existing product portfolio and offers something truly unique and attractive to the sports industry.

“As Press Association Sport is the official data supplier to several governing bodies – including the Premier League and the England and Wales Cricket Board – YourSportTV also benefits from using our certified content to power the tool, ensuring speed and accuracy of delivery.”
