HSS Hire wins Thames Water contract

HSS Hire, the tool and equipment hire company, has secured a five year, multi-million pound contract from Thames Water.

The private equity-owned firm, which has its headquarters on Trafford Park, Manchester. will supply the water company with general tools, safetysurvey equipment and also health and safety training.

Thames Water will also be using HSS’ revolutionary online business management system, ‘HSS LiveHire’, which will provide them and their contractors with added transparency and control over their equipment hire portfolio.

HSS chief executive Chris Davies, said:”We are delighted to be working with Thames Water on this exciting new agreement. We believe firmly in helping our customers to save time and money and this new collaborative partnership model is a pioneering approach that will do just that by promoting price transparency and operational efficiency.

“It will also encourage the cross-hire of equipment between contractors which will help reduce both any potential downtime and the environmental impact of multiple deliveries to site.”

HSS has more than 2,000 staff nationwide and owns a fleet of 800 vehicle. It has been owned since 2007 by Och-Ziff Capital Management Group and Aurigo, the investment vehicle headed by ex-ASDA boss Archie Norman.
