Appointments: New employment head at Turner Parkinson, FA role for Murdoch & more

PAMELA McColl has joined Manchester law firm Turner Parkinson as head of its employment team.
She joins the firm from Myers Lister Price in Altrincham and has also worked for Cheshire firm SAS Daniels and at the conciliation organisation ACAS.
Specialising in advising employers on a wide range of employment issues including redundancies, unfair dismissal claims, restricted covenants and maternity/paternity rights, Pam will also head up the firm’s TP People service.
TP People provides businesses with an all encompassing employment and health andsafety service for a fixed monthly fee and has recently appointed Philip Wilding as its sales manager.
Nick Davenport, senior partner at Turner Parkinson said: “Pamela will bring a wealth of experience to the team and will no doubt be a great asset to the firm.”

FORMER footballer turned sports lawyer Colin Murdoch has been appointed to the Football Association’s Agents Panel.
Mr Murdoch, who is now a solicitor at Manchester firm George Davies, has also serves as a chairman on the FA’sl Judicial Panel.
He said: “My role with the FA means that I can combine my experience in football with my experience in law to help apply the rules of the game in a fair and consistent way.
“These latest appointments are a real honour; it is fantastic to still be involved in Professional Football with the FA albeit in a very different capacity.”

RETAIL and office fit-out company Styles & Wood has appointed Allan Henshall as an account director.
Allan, 44, from Liverpool is a former project director at Balfour Beatty Construction.
At Timperley-based Styles & Wood he will be responsible for leading the Royal Bank of Scotland project delivery team, advising on major national fit-out programmes.
During his time with Balfour Beatty, he led Grosvenor’s £125m Paradise Street Project in Liverpool.
