Eatonfield chief puts stables on the market

THE chief executive of distressed property company Eatonfield Rob Lloyd has put his Haycroft Farm racing yard in Cheshire on the market with Jackson Equestrian.

Mr Lloyd said that he was putting the stables, which is where footballer Michael Owen stables his racehorses, on the market as he faced an “onerous responsibility” to meet as chief executive of Eatonfield Group, the struggling Tarporley-based developer which recently announced plans for a capital reorganisation of its share base.

The firm’s deal with its lenders expired last month and it remains in talks with its banks about renewing its facilities.

Mr Lloyd acquired Haycroft Farm three years ago and said that he has spent millions of pounds in improvements at the yard since. Since joining the yard its trainer Pat Morris has trained 33 winners and had more than 100 placed horses.

The 170-acre property has its own gallops, stables for around 60 horses, a five-bedroom farmhouse, staff accommodation, a separate cottage and even its own vineyard.
