Appointments: David Blain adds magic to Renovo, DLA promotes seven, Beevers’ boost to SME team and more…
LISTED anti-scarring pioneer Renovo has appointed David Blain as its permanent chief financial officer and company secretary.

LISTED anti-scarring pioneer Renovo has appointed David Blain as its permanent chief financial officer and company secretary. 

Mr Blain, 47, joined the Manchester company as interim CFO last August, and will assume his permanent boardroom role from February 1.

Renovo said he had been granted an award of 300,000 shares under the company’s long term incentive plan, conditional on him meeting pre-set performance targets.

LAW firm DLA Piper has promoted seven lawyers at its Barbirolli Square offices in Manchester.

Nick Helm and Ian Wood have been made partners in firm’s finance and projects department, while Vanessa Rickard from the real estate team has been promoted to legal director.

A further four lawyers have been promoted to associate level. They are Emily Williams and Emma Poole from the real estate team, Helen Collinge from the litigation and regulation department and Emma Slark from the employment team.

MANCHESTER-based accountancy firm Beever and Struthers has appointed Shelim Rahman as partner in its SME team

The team comprises of seven partners and support staff focused on the North West’s small and medium business sector. Mr Rahman, aged 36, joined from HNL, the Altrincham-based accountancy firm that merged with Beever and Struthers in 2006.

He said: “These are undeniably tough times for SMEs. They are the engine of the UK economy and it’s therefore essential that they receive the best possible expert advice to enable them to survive and potentially thrive during the current downturn.”

LAW firm JMW, based in Manchester, has taken on a new partner and solicitor within its corporate team.

Stephen Hadlow joins as partner from Manchester law firm Shammah Nicholls. He will advise on the full range of corporate transactions, and has particular expertise in M&A and private equity.

Nina Latham also joins the corporate team as a Solicitor from Halliwells’ Manchester office.
