Omni Serv wins Heathrow contract

AN AIRLINE services provider with a base at Manchester Airport has won a £12m contract at Heathrow.

Under the terms of the deal with the British Airports Authority (BAA) Omni Serv, a subsidiary of the US-based Air Serv Corporation, will help disabled passengers board and disembark from flights.

Omni Serv secured a £4.8m funding package from The Royal Bank of Scotland’s asset and invoice finance arm Lombard to help pay for the equipment required to carry out the job.

The business was set up in 2004 to give its parent a foothold in the UK airline market. The £4m turnover business provides cleaning, security and passenger-related services at several UK airports.

Chairman Ernie Patterson said: “Heathrow is the UK’s largest airport with more than 90 airlines based there.  Given the size of the airport this is a landmark contract for Omni Serv and one that will help us achieve our goal of becoming the leading provider of passenger and security services to aviation industry in this country.”
