Russells wins contract to refurb Yearsley unit

TRAFFORD Park-based contractor Russells Construction has won a £445,000 contract to carry out a refurb of Yearsley Group’s cold storage facility in Grimsby.
The company is to install a new 63,000 sq ft superflat, insulated concrete floor at the facility in 10 weeks. It is one of a number of projects recently undertaken for the £130m-turnover, Heywood-based Yearsley Group. Other projects have included construction of a new 100,000 sq ft cold store in the north east town of Seaham and refurbishments of facilities in Birmingham and Gillingham.
Gareth Russell, construction director at Russells Construction, said: “The Yearsley Group is a longstanding client of ours and we understand their business well. This new insulated floor will enable the Grimsby store to control storage conditions with even greater accuracy and improve energy efficiency.
Harry Yearsley, managing director of Yearsley Group, said: “Having worked with Russells Construction before, we know they will ensure minimum disruption to our working procedures at Grimsby, enabling us to continue to provide our high level of service and deliver for our customers within the short lead times required in the cold store industry.”
