The Hut Group expands with senior appointments

ONLINE entertainment retailer The Hut Group has made a series of new appointments in senior roles, as well as growing its web design and customer services team.
In December, the Northwich-based company won a £5m interest free loan in the Bank of Scotland’s national Entrepreneur Challenge, which chief executive Matthew Moulding said he would use to fast track its expansion plans.
Now, the £27m turnover company has made a string of new senior appointments: recruiting Anuraag Jain as IT director from Betfair.com; Dominic Starkey as head of ecommerce from Littlewoods Football Pools; and Darren Rajanah as head of finance from the Caudwell Group.
It has also made new appointments in its design team, with Hala Moodie and Rich Pickford joining as web designers, while Tina Hidderely has been taken on as customer services team leader.
Mr Moulding said: “Both online retail and ecommerce markets are growing, which presents opportunities for us to continue our expansion. I am truly excited by the prospect of building the business further and we can only do this with the right people on board.”
Alongside the company’s online retail site TheHut.com, The Hut Group runs a white label website service for retailers including Asda, DSGi group and LoveFilm.
