eXpansys signs deal to sell flying drone

MANCHESTER-based mobile phone e-tailer eXpansys has announced a new partnership deal with wireless device firm Parrot to sell its new AR Drone Quadricopter – a small flying helicopter device controlled by users with iPhones or iPod touch devices.
The company’s deal will see it provide all of the back end fulfillment to Parrot and sell the device around the world.
The drone is controlled via a wi-fi link. It contains two on-board cameras providing a live cockpit view on the iPhone, allowing the pilot to control it via four propellers.
eXpansys chief executive Anthony Catterson said: “This hugely innovative and exciting device is taking the technology and gaming world by storm, as evidenced by the thousands of units that we have already sold during the initial launch phase.”
