‘Business as usual’ following Pulse deal

STOCKPORT packaging specialist Pulse Media has been bought out of administration by its owners.

Managing director Dale Bonser, who founded the business 26 years ago with Barry Lane, said the deal had enabled the company to continue to trade, retain its 62 staff and leave key contracts uninterrupted.

He said: “The business has been re-capitalised and has continued to trade, there have been no job losses and the client base is intact.”

Mr Bonser and Mr Dale bought the new company from administrators Leonard Curtis through a new vehicle, Pulse Creative, but will continue to trade as Pulse Media.

Trevor Carter, a consultant who worked with the directors on the deal, said HM Revenue & Customs petitioned to wind up the business over unpaid taxes after “hardening” its position on small business debtors.

“It owed money to the Revenue and it has suddenly hardened its attitude,” said Mr Carter of Glenfield Associates. “The customers have continued to support us and we’re working with our creditors.”

Pulse has offices in Heaton Mersey and Slough, Berkshire. Its clients include Birdseye, confectionery maker Masterfoods, Sacla sauces and Transport for London.
