Taylor Wimpey buys Bromborough site

HOUSEBUILDER Taylor Wimpey has bought a five-acre development site in the Wirral from a university pension fund.

Agent Jones Lang Lasalle, which handled the sale for the Universities Superannuation Scheme, said the value of the deal was not disclosed.

The site, adjacent to Croft Retail Park, off the A41 at Bromborough, has planning permission for 86 homes.

Kieran McLaughlin, associate director in Jones Lang LaSalle’s residential development and investment team in Manchester, said: “This sale demonstrates that developer confidence is once again returning to the North West residential land market and that housebuilders have an appetite for sites in good locations and are actively seeking development opportunities.”
