Moss Bros opens big Boss

MOSS Bros has opened its biggest BOSS store in the country at Manchester’s New Cathedral Street.

The company has relocated from King St to take on the 10,000 sq ft former Heal’s unit close to Selfridges and Marks & Spencer.

Moss Bros said the new franchise store is the second-largest BOSS store in the world and will be the only one in the UK to stock all of the brand’s lines.

It said that 40 new jobs had been created as a result of the move to larger premises.

Bernd Hake, managing director of Hugo Boss UK said: “We are thrilled about the opening of the UK’s largest BOSS store in Manchester – one of the most important domestic regions for us and equally one of the most stylish, cosmopolitan cities in the UK.

“The distinctive design of the store, as well as the footprint, gives us a dynamic environment in which to present the depth and breadth of our collections.”

Joe Ellis, group trading director of Moss Bros, said: “We have known for a long time that Manchester is a fashion hub for the North West; it is one of our strongest markets with much untapped potential.

“Many retailers focus their attention on Central London, but we recognise the need to evolve growth in other regions, to increase our market share in the premium sector, as well as contributing to the sustained growth of the British economy.”

The firm will hold a launch event for the store next Sunday, November 14.
