Conlon starts £2m refurb

PRESTON-based Conlon Construction has been appointed to carry out a £2m refurbishment of a day centre for people with disabilities in Burnley.
The firm has started the work at the Temple Street Resource Centre which involves the demolition of the main front hall, internal structural alterations, a new-build front elevation, new roofing and a complete internal fit-out.
The revamped centre will include a garden area, a kitchen, a hydrotherapy bath, a sensory room and a games room.
Work on the centre, for people with complex disabilities, should be finished in May 2011.
Director Michael Conlon said: “We are delighted to be involved alongside Lancashire County Council in a project that will make a real difference to the users of the centre.
“The state-of-the-art facilities in the modern, purpose built surroundings will ensure that Temple Street Resource Centre provides a fantastic facility which I am sure will be highly valued by the local community.”
