Global deal for Plant Impact

AGRICULTURAL services provider Plant Impact is in talks with one of the world’s biggest agrochemical firms to licence its pest control agent, BugOil.
Under the licence agreement the third party would have an exclusive 20-year licence to manufacture and market BugOil globally and make payments to Plant Impact when agreed milestones are met as well as royalties upon sales.
Preston-based Plant Impact has also secured a £750,000 loan from the unnamed company.
BugOil is a benign insect and mite control agent derived from essential plant oil technology and offers highly effective control in a non-toxic, environmentally-friendly method. It kills mites, whitefly, thrips and aphids which are some of the most damaging and most difficult to control.
Peter Blezard, chief executive of Plant Impact, said: “This is a very important milestone for the company as it shows the level of confidence that a major global company has in the environmentally friendly products that we develop to help maximise agricultural production.”
