Driver Group makes strong start to the year

NORTH West contract resolution group Driver said today it remained confident of meeting its growth targets.
The AIM-listed company, headquartered in Haslingden near Rossendale, said it had made a good start to the financial year.
Last month Driver, which specialises on dispute resolution in the constructiona nd engineering sectors, posted a record set of annual results with surges in sales and profits, Turnover jumped 43% to £18.15m, but profits rocketed 90% to £1.98m.
Addressing the company’s annual meeting chairman Michael Davis will say: “I am very pleased to report that trading over the first four months of the new financial year has been very encouraging and in line with management expectations, giving us confidence for the remainder of the year.
“We commenced the new financial year with increased consultancy capacity, both in the UK and in the Middle East, and we see good potential for continuing growth, particularly in the South of England and Oman.
“Across the different sub-sectors of the construction and engineering industries, demand for our specialist services from the public, civil engineering, energy and transport sectors remains good, underpinned by committed government spending and long term infrastructure projects.
“Our work for financial institutions involved with distressed or insolvent businesses continues to develop. Looking ahead, we remain confident that the business is well-placed to achieve its growth targets.”
Driver employs more than 160 people worldwide. It has recently opened an office In Oman to service demand in the Middle East.
