Appointments: Anna Ford boosts N Brown board; Ensor chief goes and more…

HOME shopping company, N Brown group has announced the appointments of Ivan Fallon as deputy chairman and Anna Ford as non-executive director.

Ivan Fallon has been an independent non-executive director of the N Brown group for several years.

Anna Ford is a well-known broadcast journalist. She is a trustee of “Forum for the Future” and is currently a non-executive director on the board of J Sainsbury’s plc.

Lord Alliance, N Brown group chairman, said: “I am delighted to announce the appointment of Ivan Fallon to deputy chairman of the group. Ivan has been working with us for a number of years and has already been significantly involved with moving our business forward.

I am also pleased to welcome Anna Ford to our board of directors. Anna will bring invaluable experience to N Brown from a number of different areas.”

MANCHESTER building products to packaging group Ensor Holdings has appointed Roger Harrison as chief executive.

Mr Harrison was previously a non-executive at the group. He replaces Paul Parnham who resigned yesterday.

THERE has been a boardroom shake-up at the Macclesfield drug testing company Cyprotex. David Evans has resigned as a non-executive director and John Dootson has been appointed chief financial officer.

Chairman Steve Harris said: “David has made a significant contribution to the company as a non-executive director and the board would like to thank him for his contribution to the company and wish him well with his future endeavours. 

“John has been associated with the company for over four years as a consultant financial controller and therefore has intimate knowledge of the company’s business and finances. He brings to the company wide ranging financial expertise gained in both industry and private practice.”

WARRINGTON-based provider of guest internet access, Airangel, has appointed five new members to its team.

Tracy Scriven, 38, has been appointed as business development manager for the corporate sector, Dru Widdowson, 34, will develop the hospitality sector and Paul Lockhart, 41, will manage the London region for Airangel.

Phil Ward, 27, joins as financial controller, having previously worked for Million-2-1.  Darryl Petch, 23, will join Airangel’s installation team as a field engineer.

Dean Wilkinson, sales director of Airangel, said: “These five new recruits make us well placed to seize on the growing demand for WiFi across all corners of society – whether it’s in the hospitality, leisure or corporate sectors.”
