Dolphin Music tribute to tragic founder

FRIENDS and colleagues of North West entrepreneur Rob Williams, the co-founder of Liverpool-based Dolphin Music today paid tribute to him after his death this week

Rob, 29, who was killed in an accident in the Swiss Alps on Monday, launched the business with his close friend Jason Tavaria after graduating from Liverpool University.

Dolphin, which  sells music equipment online and operates three Guitar Shop retail units in Liverpool, Huddersfield and Gateshead, employs more than 60 people

Mr Tavaria, who was on holiday with Rob in the resort of Verbier,  said simply: “He was my lifelong best friend, who will never be replaced.”

A company statement added: “All of those who have worked with Rob knew him to be a gentle man of exceptional dignity.  Rob had a real zest for life and accomplished so much in his short time in this world.  He was a major driving force at Dolphin Music and continues to be an inspiration to all of us.

“Both as a colleague and a leader, to most people Rob was also a friend.  His un-flappable capability, business acumen and technical/creative vision have all been pivotal in making Dolphin Music a leading force in music retail, and also a great place to work.

“Our mission and our duty now are to continue striving towards Rob’s vision for Dolphin Music.  We are proud to have worked with him, and learned so much from him.  This means that he will always be part of the team and remain instrumental in our future success.”
