Wilko’s to open in Arndale

Family-owned discount retailer Wilkinson’s is to create more than 120 new jobs when it opens a new store in Manchester’s Arndale Centre next month.

 The firm will open a new unit in the former Madhouse clothes store on December 8, which will be its 348th store.

The 23,500 sq ft store will offer its full range of items, including household products, confectionery, electrical goods, pet care goods and toys.

Store manager, Paul Rivers, said: “Opening a store in Manchester’s already thriving Arndale Centre, and creating so many new jobs, is an exciting prospect for us.

“We are looking forward to becoming part of such a vibrant city, and tempting as many shoppers as possible through the doors with our great value product ranges and friendly shopping environment.”
