Cemetery and forests included in asset sale

THE Manchester office of accountancy firm Deloitte has been appointed to handle the administration of a property company with interests in Welsh forests and a cemetery.
Bill Dawson and Ian Brown were appointed to Regent Properties (Staffordshire) on November 9 and say they are working on the disposal of its assets.
In a statement they said the company owns four forests in North Wales with the potential for logging and peat extraction.
It also owns a private cemetery, residential property, commercial land and buildings in Stoke-on-Trent.
Mr Dawson said: “We are working with the company’s directors to assess the assets of the business and market them for sale to maximise returns for creditors.
“We will carry out the appropriate duties to ensure that the properties and land are maintained whilst working to find purchasers.”
The company is registered to the Manchester address of accountants UHY Hacker Young. The most recent papers filed at Companies House show Regent’s directors are Stephen Shemilt or Stoke and Robin Bagnall of Newcastle-under-Lyme.
