Export order to double Norwood’s turnover

A HYDE business which manufactures and installs steel and glazed partition systems is set to double its turnover after winning its first export contract.

Norwood Partition Solutions has won a £3m contract to supply, deliver and install internal glass partitions used in the construction of a new library and research complex at Qatar University in Doha.

The Qatar job is Norwood’s first export contract and is expected to boost the company’s turnover from £4m to £8m. Norwood secured the contract with help from NatWest’s International Trade team, who provided export advice, a letter of credit facility and a working capital loan.

Norwood was awarded the contract by Tadmur Contracting, the principal contractor responsible for the new library and research building on behalf of the Qatari Government. The public university is the largest in Qatar and is home to more than 8,000 students.

Established five years ago, Norwood manufactures and installs moveable partitions, walk-on ceiling systems, modular clean rooms and fire rated doors and partitions. It employs 32 staff at is Hyde base.

Director Andrew Boydell said: “The contract is the result of two years of negotiations and is great news for everyone connected to the company. We provide each client with a bespoke design service based around quality UK-made products and we are confident this approach will help secure additional export orders. I would like to thank NatWest as their advice and guidance proved invaluable to help win this order.”
