Ladbrokes puts its money on Bglobal

LANCASHIRE smart metering specialist has won a contract with betting giant Ladbrokes to install devices in 950 UK shops.
As well as the supply and istallation of the meters, the AIM-listed Darwen firm will provide Ladbrokes with meter reading, data collection and data analysis services.
Bglobal, which announced the sudden departure of chief executive Tony Barnes earlier this month, is the largest provider of remotely-read smart meters in the UK with over 130,000 meter installations to date.
New chief executive Tim Jackson Smith said: “This agreement further recognises Bglobal’s expertise in multi-site installations for leading UK companies and underlines our position as the provider of choice to the UK high street.
“We look forward to supporting Ladbrokes in the next phase of its smart meter roll-out plans.”
Nick Eshelby, director of property services and facilities at Ladbrokes, added: “Bglobal’s smart metering and energy information services will allow Ladbrokes to continue with our road map towards improved energy management and carbon reduction.
“Bglobal’s expertise in the retail sector is very important to Ladbrokes, alongside their wide experiences of deployment across the high street.”
