Uncle Joe’s push sales Down Under

UNCLE Joe’s Mint Balls, based in Wigan, says it has tripled orders for its sweets in Australia thanks to a deal with Victoria-based distributor Raw Materials.

In the last three years the agent has extended the Uncle Joe’s range across the Eastern states and increased volume sales.

Emma McMillan, national sales manager at Raw Materials, said: “Everyone loves the iconic 200g tin and the fact that they are gluten-free is a real selling point. Australians do have a sweet tooth, but Uncle Joe’s are going especially well in the Eastern states, where there are a lot of English expats.”

Uncle Joe’s managing director John Winnard, said: “They understand how to sell the traditional Uncle Joe’s story and where to sell it. It’s interesting that gluten-free plays so well. We are delighted with the progress down under.”
