Appointments: Ener-G appoints five divisional heads; new starters at HOW Planning

The energy management division (EMD) of Salford-based environmental technology group ENER-G has appointed five senior managers to drive its expansion programme.

The firm said that the appointments are aimed at repositioning its energy management activities and would help to fuel greater international growth.

The division, which is led by Cedric Rodrigues, currently employs over 100 staff in Salford; Studley, Warwickshire; and Hungary, with offices opening shortly in Holland and Poland. It said that 25 new people been recruited to support the expansion.

The new corporate structure will see five new divisions being created, each with their own managers. They are:- CMR Consultants, ENER-G Efficiency, ENER-G Procurement, ENER-G Metering and Data Solutions and ENER-G Controls.

Mike Langan has been appointed general manager of ENER-G’s consultancy division, CMR Consultants, which operates as an independent energy and water consultancy business.

Steven Jeffers has been promoted to general manager of ENER-G Efficiency, which implements cost reducing energy technologies across applications such as building energy management systems, combined heat and power plants and smart lighting systems.

Mark Alston has joined from Centrica to lead the newly created ENER-G Procurement business, combining the energy fixed and flexible purchasing activities of CMR Consultants and Utility Auditing.

The ENER-G Metering and Data Solutions business is headed by Stephen Walshaw, and the ENER-G Controls business has appointed Gary Dowsett as director of business development and marketing.

Rodrigues said: “With these improvements, we are now operating as highly focused businesses to address the changing dynamics of the market place, as well as to more closely align our capabilities, strengths and resources with our products and services to meet our customers’ immediate needs and future aspirations.”

MANCHESTER-based HOW Planning has taken on two new members of staff. Chris Peacock, 29, who initially worked at HOW when he left university, has returned to join the environmental team, having gained three years technical experience at a multidisciplinary consultancy. 

Dan Brown, 27, has joined as a senior planner from Drivers Jonas Deloitte. He will be working on HOW’s food and non food retail clients including Waitrose, Marks & Spencer and B&Q.
