Parasol spends £300k to upgrade

PARASOL, the Warrington-based payroll outsourcing group, has invested £300,000 in upgrading its online payment services for its contractor clients.

The company, which acts as an employer for sole traders and contractors to make their financial management easier, has put all of its services online, and upgraded their usability.

The new online portal, called My Parasol, is a joint development between Parasol and Manchester Science Park-based Gödel Technologies Europe, and has been designed to make inputting information quicker and easier for contractors.

It  also lets contractors see exactly how much they are going to get paid and monitor each stage of invoicing.

Parasol is also looking into developing a version of the portal that can be downloaded to an iPhone or Blackberry, so contractors can use it on the move.

Rob Crossland, Parasol’s managing director, said: “As the UK’s leading PAYE umbrella company we are keen to respond to the needs of our flexible employees.  This investment in developing ‘My Parasol’ reflects our long term commitment to this end.

“At the same time, by using Parasol, contractors will be assured that their contracting career is completely legal.  This equates to peace of mind – a very valuable commodity in the contracting world.”
