Hurstwood moves into Manchester city centre

NORTH West property company Hurstwood is to move its corporate headquarters for the second time in as many years.

The firm relocated its headquarters from Rawtenstall to Bolton in 2008 but said that it now plans to move from the company-owned Navigation Park complex into space at One Marsden Street in Manchester city centre to be closer to its professional contacts in the city.

Chairman Stephen Ashworth said: “Over the past 24 months we have worked hard to give the business a new focus and a move to Manchester now makes practical sense for the company.

“The vast majority of the people we deal with on a day-to-day basis, something like 95 per cent of our professional relationships we have, are in the city and this move will bring us closer to them. It’s the right thing to do at the right time for the business.”

Within the past two years Hurstwood has been forced to place its construction and property development arms into administration, as well as agreeing a major restructuring with its five banks. As a result, it now focuses purely on its property investment portfolio with assets at more than 100 sites.

“Our job continues to be to ensure we maximise the potential of our extensive investment portfolio which is located across the North West, Yorkshire and Wales,” said Ashworth.
