Furniture company grows portfolio with new buy

EAST Lancashire furniture company Senator International has expanded with the acquisition of a Buckinghamshire business.
The Altham-based business, which employs almost 1,000 staff, has acquired Teal Furniture (Holdings) Ltd, based in High Wycombe, for a “substantial” undisclosed sum.
Senator, which specialises in office furniture, said the aquisition will give it a foothold in a new market.
Teal specialises in wooden contract furniture and is a major supplier to the NHS and also works with businesses including private hospitals, universities and hotels.
Lancashire solicitors Napthens provided legal advice to Senator on the deal.
Andrew Clare, head of the corporate department, said: “This was a fairly complex deal, with elements of corporate and commercial property law including some lease issues and I am delighted to see the acquisition complete so successfully.
“Senator International is a real flag-flyer for Lancashire and the North West business community, and this deal comes on the back of two other acquisitions in the last two years.”
Solicitors from Pittman’s, Reading advised the vendors, along with accountants from Grant Thornton.
